Is it still a secret that Kris Bryant is fast? I think all Cubs fans know it very well by now – we certainly know that, overall, he’s one of the best baserunners in the league – but does the rest of the baseball world really appreciate how a 6’5″ guy can move like that?
Even if they don’t, you’d certainly think a former teammate would know better than to take his time with Kris Bryant coming down the line, even if you figure he’s absolutely dead-to-rights on a hard-hit grounder right to you with the infield drawn in (NBCS Chicago):
Don’t get mad. Get even.

Yes, Starlin Castro took his time, and yes, the throw was imperfect. But still, Bryant was *flying.* I think he deserves most of the credit for getting a huge secondary lead, committing right away, and then blazing to the plate.
Off the bat, and when I saw Castro get that ball, I thought there was no way Bryant would even be going. Then, when I saw he was, I was like, “ah crap, the contact play gets the Cubs again.”
I guess even I forget for just a second how fast Kris Bryant is. Cubs win. Cubs win.
