Well, the Cubs got a last-minute lefty thrown at them in the form of Max Fried, and it looks like they’re using their against-lefty lineup.

- Ben Zobrist, RF

- Anthony Rizzo,1B
- Willson Contreras, C
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Addison Russell, SS
- Ian Happ, LF
- Jon Lester, P
With a lefty on the mound tonight, the Cubs are throwing Albert Almora out there at leadoff/center field, Ben Zobrist in right field, and Ian Happ in left. That leaves lefties Kyle Schwarber (on the bench) and Jason Heyward (on the concussion DL) out of the lineup.
It also moves everyone else down a spot, as Zobrist bats second, pushing #Bryzzo to third and fourth, and so on. Speaking of Anthony Rizzo, he hasn’t really handled lefties too well this year. Sure, there have been struggles and changes all over the place, but last year, for example, his splits against lefties (128 wRC+) and righties (135 wRC+) were fairly close. This year, by contrast, has shown a much bigger gap (45 wRC+, 98 wRC+).
