It’s a battle of the Tys today, as Tyler Chatwood and the Cubs are hosting Ty Blach and the Giants for a rubber match at Wrigley Field. The winner of today’s contest will win the series, so hopefully the Cubs saved some magic for tonight.
And, hey, Almora is starting and leading off:

Of course, I think today will ultimately come down to Tyler Chatwood, who’s filling in for an injured Yu Darvish, and his command. Indeed, after walking just two batters against the Braves, Chatwood walked six Indians in his 2.2 IP start last time out, which was ultimately his worst start of the season. His walk rate currently sits at an almost unthinkable 19.7%.
Ty Blach, on the other hand, has the opposite problem. He walks very few guys (7.6%) but almost never strikes anybody out (10.8%). Righties really get the best of Blach, so the Cubs will look to Albert Almora and Javy Baez to have big games offensively.
The Cubs have some tough games coming up (Pirates, Mets, Phillies) so a win today (and a series win this weekend) would get things started in the right direction.
