People like to joke on Twitter about widely-discussed sports topics. Did you know this? Of course you knew this. You’d be able to spot a joke, right?
Like a joke about the Anthony Rizzo slide thing, and Joe Maddon’s insistence that it was a good play:
Here is one area where Maddon and Hurdle disagree. Hurdle: "There is nothing he (Diaz) could have done differently, IMO." Maddon: "You have to teach proper technique. He has to get out further."

That’s some kind of amazing right there. We’ve all made oopsies like that before, and maybe the broadcaster thought Maddon, himself, was joking in some way. But still … it’s a little embarrassing.
I expect Willson Contreras to be hit two or three times in tonight’s game to repay this insult.
