Looks like there might be a wave of roster moves in the minors today. While the rest of us were focused on the draft, word broke that Trevor Clifton is being moved to Iowa.
Looks like Trevor Clifton is headed to Iowa. Another big pitching prospect. Ranked No. 27 in the organization by https://t.co/hZBqd6hfDs. https://t.co/t42kPnflzZ

The 23-year-old righty had been repeating AA, and posted a sub-3 ERA in his first 12 starts this year.
Later there were unconfirmed (so far as I could tell, anyway) reports, that reliever Dakota Mekkes is also on his way up. If so, we’ll get a chance to see if his unique style will play against polished hitters and minor league veterans.
That could mean that Iowa will be sending a pitcher to Chicago today, and it probably means that Myrtle Beach will be sending someone on up to Tennessee – lots of good, deserving starting options there. We’ll keep an eye on the transaction wire and see what happens. This tends to be the start of the period where you see movement in the farm system, especially as draft prospects begin to sign.
Other than that, today’s Daily will be on the light side. Only Tennessee was in action yesterday.
Triple A: Iowa Cubs
Iowa had the day off.
Double A: Tennessee Smokies
Jackson 10, Tennessee 7
Game One looks odd on the box score because that game was started back in April. Game Two was seven innings.
High A: Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Myrtle Beach had the day off.
Low A: South Bend Cubs
South Bend had the day off.
