Ian Happ made an incredible catch to save a run.
I could be referring to at least two catches today, because Happ made a sparkling catch early in the game to save at least one run. But I’m not talking about this one:

I’m also not talking about the incredible catch he made in the 6th inning, but only because it didn’t directly save a run:

I am instead talking about the catch Happ just made to end the game, which saved a run, and also prevented the tying run from being at second base:

Game over! Cubs win! Holy cow!
And that was his best catch of the day, too! Three fantastic catches out in left field today for Happ, and the last one literally closes out the game. That’s a lot of fun, and a reminder of how good he can be out there at times. Center field still feels like an adjustment for him, but he certainly looked quick and precise out in left.
