I say “wake up” even though it’s 8:30 because if you’re anything like me this morning, you’re still struggling to really, fully wake up. That was a 1 am night for me (curse you, Eastern Time Zone!), then The Littlest Girl up a couple times in the night, and then an early morning up and at ’em. So, yeah, I’m hurtin’.
That’s why it’s very nice to get to re-enjoy the Cubs’ offensive explosion in the 11th inning to take that game from the Brewers:

The Anthony Rizzo homer was, strictly speaking, all the Cubs needed, but it’s always nice to see them pour it on with two outs and thump away any hope the Brewers had of pulling off a comeback.
Thanks in large part to that 11th inning, the Cubs wound up going 5-9 with runners in scoring position in the game, which is obviously fantastic – and totally different than what you were probably feeling in your gut heading into extras.
Throw in the fact that the Cubs only had that opportunity in the 11th because they came back to score a run off of Josh Hader in the 8th inning, and it makes the five-run inning all the more sweet.
Oh, and also, the Cubs are now in first place in the NL Central.
