Like I said this morning, I wouldn’t have expected to see Javy Baez in the lineup tonight against the Dodgers in any case after taking a fastball off the elbow last night, but even if he sits, that’s not a bad signal.
On the radio today, Baez, himself, conceded that he might need a day off, but it doesn’t sound like things are worse today after a night of sleep:
Javier Baez tells the guys his elbow is good. He did not get an x-ray. Says, "I'm good," but admits he may need another day.

Javier Baez says his injured elbow is doing OK: "It's still there."
It's not clear if he'll play tonight, but Baez believes he could use one day off.

All in all, this is very pleasing to hear. You never know how the pain and swelling will change overnight when there’s an impact like this, so Baez even talking like this is a good sign.
Your early expectation is a day-to-day situation, with Baez getting the night off tonight (against a righty in Kenta Maeda, who is really tough on righties, by the way), and then hopefully back out there tomorrow night.
