WATCH: Albert Almora, Jr. Walks the Cubs Off!

Chicago Cubs

In today’s 20th or so hour of baseball, the Dodgers and Cubs played to a 1-1 tie heading into the 10th inning.

In the top of that frame, the Dodgers loaded the bases, but could not push across a run. In the bottom of that frame, the Cubs got a leadoff triple from Kris Bryant, and, after an intentional walk to Javy Baez, Albert Almora, Jr. stepped to the plate (why would you walk the guy who might whiff in that situation in favor of the high-contact guy?).

Unlike the Dodgers, the Cubs would not be denied their chance to win it in 10:

Cubs win, Cubs win, Cubs win. Walk it off, Albert! That thing was a bullet, too, coming off the bat at 104.3 mph. If the infield was back, maybe they have a play on it, but the run was scoring either way at that point.

And now go get some rest. You earned it.
