The Chicago Cubs today upped their officially signed draft pick total to 17, with seven signings joining the ten announced earlier. That includes first round pick, Nico Hoerner, who reportedly received the full slot value for his pick.
The Cubs’ signings are in bold – rounds 1, 2, 2C, 3, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 18, 21, 22, 24, 30, 31, and 32 are locked up:
You can see more on the picks here, here, here, here, and here, and be advised that there will still be many more signings coming. At a minimum, it’s generally always fair to presume that the picks in the top 10 rounds (the bonus pool group) will eventually be signed.
If you really want to get into the weeds on the draft signings, I’ll recommend the Savermetrics account and Google Doc.
