When we woke up this morning, we were hopeful that Kris Bryant would be activated from the disabled list, as today was the first day he was eligible to come off (shoulder). We quickly learned that this afternoon was out of the question, but there was planned optimism for tomorrow.
… but it’s not happening.
Bryant felt twinge in shoulder during workouts. Won't be activated Wednesday. To be evaluated Friday.

Kris Bryant is still feeling soreness in his shoulder and #Cubs have ruled out the idea of activating him tomorrow.

At first glance, I was fine learning that Bryant was being held out tomorrow, because with the off-day on Thursday, that would give him two more days of rest to be totally and completely fine. But if he is still feeling soreness, that’s a bit of a bummer. That means he might not necessarily be immediately ready to return even on Friday (even if the optimist in me thinks otherwise).
We’ll keep you updated if any other news comes out, but for now, just don’t expect to see Bryant until at least Friday, and even then might not be the time.
