Over the past couple years, utility prospect David Bote became a home run threat in the minor leagues, going deep 26 times in his last 180 or so games, after previously homering just 25 times in the first 400+ games of his career.
He brought that power stroke with him today, absolutely crushing this offering from Francisco Liriano:
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme

That thing was destroyed. It was 109.1 mph off the bat, and 440 feet way out of the park:

For a guy who worked his way from being an organizational journeyman type into a big leaguer, homering at Wrigley Field on the Fourth of July for your first shot is gonna be the kind of special memory he’ll never forget.
Congrats to David Bote on his first @MLB home run! #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/inhsvadqRu
