In a couple days, Kyle Schwarber will be blasting balls out of Nationals Park in Washington as part of the Home Run Derby.
Tonight, he got his licks in so that he can be properly prepared for that event. And if it helps the Cubs along the way, all the better:

That was Schwarber’s 18th blast of the year, and it was 103.5 mph off the bat the other way. You can HEAR how hard he hit that ball, even as it was kinda looking like he didn’t really hit it as well as he could have. That’s how much hurt he puts on the ball.
And here’s hoping he does some more of that on Monday night in Washington.
