I guess I won’t write this from any kind of morally superior high ground, since the Cubs traded for Aroldis Chapman fresh off a domestic violence suspension in 2016, but I will say I’m very happy this wasn’t the Cubs:

As Michael wrote earlier, Osuna is a young stud of a pitcher with many years of cheap team control left. I presume the price tag, despite the whopping 75-game domestic violence suspension he’s about to finish serving, will be high. Whatever. The Astros will be even more loaded for the postseason now.
Meanwhile, at least one of the most fervent suitors for a back-end reliever is now off the market without taking a hoped-for Cubs target.
UPDATE: The return is Ken Giles – how far he’s fallen – and a couple quality prospects:
Other player in Osuna deal, RHP Hector Perez, was #Astros’ No. 10 prospect, per @MLBPipeline.com. Giles, Perez and Paulino for Osuna. Both Giles and Osuna under club control through 2020. https://t.co/59MUVwG300
