#BNBlogathon Check-In: Hour 4

Chicago Cubs

I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 40 hours straight, until a little past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS, etc.), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

News and Rumors Since the Last Check-In:

We’re just starting, so the only rumor bit I’ve gotten into is the Pirates not selling. Mostly I’ve just been enjoying the Cubs beating the Cardinals and David Bote being awesome.

Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:

Obviously it’s the ARod ripping on Yu Darvish stuff. I still don’t know what to make of it.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

Digging the acquisitions so far, hope they remain patient on the reliever market. More coming when there’s a little more to say.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

Gotta start my day with a coffee, and yes, I went to Starbucks to get a Venti Iced Vanilla Latte, and I’m not even the least bit sorry about it.

Where I’m Writing:

Also not sorry: had to get some cinnamon rolls from Ann Sather on Broadway, so I plopped down to write while I waited.

Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:

My back is all kinds of sore, and I hope I can shake it soon, because it’s gonna be rough sledding for another 36 hours of trying fruitlessly to get comfortable sitting down to write tens of thousands of words.
