The Cubs hung on to win for the second straight day, though this time it was only after nearly blowing an early 5-0 lead.
Kyle Hendricks had some good stuff working, but a couple bad pitches, bad sequencing, and an error of his own kinda mucked up his line. Fortunately the bullpen was flawless from there, and the Cubs’ early lead was enough to hold on for the win.
The Cubs got dingers from Kyle Schwarber and Anthony Rizzo, as well as a three-hit day from Jason Heyward. Just like that, the Cubs have a chance to win this four-game series tomorrow, despite dropping the first game.
