You know, there was a version of this game where things don’t get wildly out of hand late, and we were left to pick over the bones of a so-so Jose Quintana start, and stew about the Cubs’ offense once again laying an egg against a young, no-name starter.
Maybe we’d feel better about that version of the game. Maybe we wouldn’t. Regardless, things totally fell apart, as Jose Quintana was left in a few batters too long, Tyler Chatwood the defense dropped it further from there, and the bats did nothing. CHEERS!
People forget, though, that this is a World Champion club the Cubs are facing.
