Dodgers Reportedly Claimed Bryce Harper on Waivers, But No Deal in Place

These things are really flying fast now, as the Nationals have cleared decided that it was time to sell off. They’re shipping Daniel Murphy to the Cubs and Matt Adams to the Cardinals. But what about the biggest name of all? What about Bryce Harper?

I’ve seen reports out there that the time period to complete a trade on Harper is this afternoon, so the Dodgers wouldn’t have much time to work something out. In fact, Jon Heyman hears it isn’t happening:

It certainly would sting to see the Dodgers pick up Bryce freaking Harper at this stage of the season. Sounds like it isn’t going to happen, though.
