Are you ready to start thinking about 2019!?!?
Well, of course not. The Cubs are still prossibly going to the postseason here in 2018. But today is the day that the 2019 MLB schedules come out, so we’ve gotta discuss ’em.
The Cubs will open on the road (as they almost always do – thanks, Midwest weather!) in Arlington, an interleague match-up with the Rangers on March 28. The home opener is two Mondays later on April 8 against the Pirates.
The season closes in St. Louis on September 29. Man, if the Cubs, Pirates, and Cardinals are fighting it out in the NL Central late next year, the end of September is going to be nuts – outside of one series against the Reds, the Cubs don’t play another other teams besides the Pirates and Cardinals after September 12!
Also, the Cubs get just two scheduled off-days after August 26. That could be rough, especially if either of those two final off-days gets taken by a makeup day. Here’s hoping that doesn’t happen. Oh, and the Cubs randomly have to head out to the West Coast for four games in the middle of September. So that could also be rough.
Here’s the schedule so you can start marking your calendars:
