There’s not a lot of good going on here in this update. Jason Heyward just tried to make a diving play on a Freddie Freeman ball with a couple runners on, came up well short, and then didn’t get up. Not only did the Braves tie the game, but Heyward had to depart in favor of Albert Almora Jr.
Heyward recently missed time with a persistent ankle issue, so I’m not sure if that’s related – nothing obvious happened to Heyward on the dive. That’s not to say he isn’t injured (he had to depart, after all), but it’s not clear what exactly happened.
UPDATE: Well, this ain’t great. Hamstrings are often crummy:
