When you hit the ball 382 feet, it’s a reasonable assumption – mathematically speaking – that you’ve hit a homer. But if you haven’t, you better get ready to run, because you might be able to get yourself something close a homer.
Enter Kyle Schwarber. He crushed a ball, admired his handy work for a split second, and then turned on the jets when he missed a dinger by a couple feet:

That’s a standup triple right there. And no, I don’t think he had a shot at an inside-the-parker. I’ll just enjoy the two-run triple.
Fun fact: that was Schwarber’s second triple of the year after having exactly one in 2017 and one in 2015.
