Well, let’s see how this goes. After last night’s fiasco – why on earth did they even start that game? – the Cubs and Nationals will play a doubleheader today instead. Well, they’ll try at least, since there’s more potential rain in the forecast. Natch.
Tonight's #Cubs/#Nats game has been postponed.
We'll play a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 2:05 p.m. CDT. The second game will begin 45 minutes after the first game concludes. pic.twitter.com/grTQ48TXD5

So, as you can imagine, this totally jacks up the rotation (and will jack up the bullpen) in advance of a day game on Sunday, then travel back to Chicago to face the Brewers. I don’t want to be too dramatic, but the timing of this weather and poor league decision crap … it really, really ain’t great for the Cubs.
To that end, instead of a Jon Lester start, the Cubs are getting a Jaime Garcia start. Against Max Scherzer.
I tend to think, even if Garcia is getting lit up, the Cubs are going to have to let him wear it, not only because coming back against Max Scherzer is going to be unlikely anyway, but also because they will need to preserve the bullpen. Heck, we might see a Garcia-Tyler Chatwood piggyback situation in game one …
In game two, it’ll be Cole Hamels against whomever the Nationals throw out there (not yet announced, probably a bullpen day).
