By and large, this game was decided when MLB decided to start last night’s game despite the impending threat of significant rain, and then decided to cancel it after three hours of waiting. I am not going to blame the Cubs for being extra conservative with this first game today against Max Scherzer.
As expected, the Cubs’ bats did little against him until the game was well out of hand (hooray for Terrance Gore’s first career hit!), and it didn’t really matter what relievers the Cubs threw into this one. Just finish the game and move on to tonight.
