Friday’s Cubs Game Pushed Back to 7:05pm to Accommodate MLB’s Absurd Travel Demands
While I’m still thoroughly chapped about MLB’s persistent decision to send the Cubs back to Washington – despite the threat of another rainout – for a single game in the middle of what is now a 30-scheduled-games-in-30-days stretch, I am pleased to share that at least the City of Chicago is throwing the Cubs a bone.
The Friday, Sept. 14 game vs. the Reds at Wrigley Field, currently listed as 1:20 p.m. CDT, is now scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. CDT.
Gates will open approximately two hours before the start of the game. No ticket exchange is necessary. pic.twitter.com/J83hKfEVSi

Friday night games are basically not a thing in Chicago, so this is a rare exception being made to accommodate the Cubs’ travel. It sucks that this was necessary, but it was necessary. Good on the City and the Cubs organization for making it happen.
