Friday night at Wrigley Field. Always a strange thing on the rare occasion it happens.
Now, I’m not saying the Cubs won last night because I was wearing my stupid, stained shoes, but I am saying they are now 3-0 when I wear them- including a complete game by Cole Hamels, a much-needed win against the Brewers, and an extra-innings win in Washington D.C. to extend the Cubs first-place lead beyond 1.0 game.
I’m not superstitious. At all … but I’m gonna wear those shoes again tonight, just in case.
The Cubs will start their new life without Pedro Strop tonight, so let’s hope whoever gets in there for the save tonight is ready to fill those cleats. Well, actually, let’s hope the guy pitching the 9th for the Cubs is sporting a 10-run lead.
