Down 2-0 in the first inning while the Brewers skipped out to an early lead against the Tigers, it was not looking good for the Cubs.
For a few minutes.
Because they stormed back in a big way, scoring again and again over the next few innings, capped just now by a two-run Willson Contreras homer to give the Cubs an 8-2 lead:

It’s hard to tell if that ball ever hit the video board there before hitting the tape on the basket, but if it *had* only hit the tape and then bounced back on the field, it’s not a home run (which has happened multiple times already this year at Wrigley). But the call on the field of a homer stayed the call without any kind of review or challenge, so that was Contreras’s first homer in nearly two months (August 1).
The Brewers are currently winning handily against the Tigers, so it’s good to see the Cubs playing well.
