The Dodgers are down two games to none, but they’re moving the series back to L.A. and have a favorable matchup tonight. That is, if you believe a rookie like Walker Buehler won’t be overcome by the moment.
Buehler has had a fantastic first full season with the Dodgers (2.62 ERA in 23 starts), but has allowed 10 earned runs through three postseason starts (16.2 IP) so far. A 5.40 ERA isn’t going to cut it tonight, so we’ll see if he bounces back.
Meanwhile Rick Porcello, the guy who won the AL Cy Young Award with a 3.15 ERA back in 2016, is taking the mound for the Red Sox after a much more pedestrian season (4.28 ERA). He’s made two postseason starts so far, one good-ish (5.0 IP, 4H, 1ER) and another fairly bad (4.0 IP, 7H, 4ER).
I’m still pulling for the Red Sox to sweep, so let’s go Porcello.
