Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox on their fourth World Series title in the last 15 years, and what a tremendous run it’s b…
BAH WHO CARES ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW.
With the 2018 World Series in the books, the 2018/19 offseason can officially begin. Free agents become free agents today, teams decide on options and qualifying offers this week, free agents can start signing with new teams this weekend, and the rumor mill starts burning it up, baby.
It could – should – be a fairly transformative offseason for the Chicago Cubs, who will look to retool the offense, overhaul the bullpen, and make sure there is plenty of starting pitching depth.
It all begins today. The entire process will take a while, mind you, so don’t burn yourselves out in this first week. We’ll try to do our part to cover everything, while also keeping you apprised of the realistic timelines, the plausibility of the rumors (like when Scott Boras is trolling), and the ideal outcomes for the Cubs.
The offseason isn’t *quite* as fun as the season, itself, but it can sure be a lot of fun if you keep in mind that no one out there will have perfect information about what’s going down until it’s done. So, let’s have some fun with credible rumors, thoughtful analyses, and OMG HOLY CRAP BRYCE HARPER TO THE CUBS LOLOLOLOL!!!!1!!1!.
