Another Interview for Hyde, the Mets and Mariners Move Ahead, and Other Bullets

  • Per multiple reports, the big Mets/Mariners deal is expected to be finalized tomorrow. The money is settled, no-trade secured, physical reviews underway, etc., etc. Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz will be Mets (as well as about $20 million in contributed cash), and Jay Bruce and Anthony Swarzak (and their contracts) will go to the Mariners, who get prospects Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn, and Gerson Bautista as the primary returns in the deal.
  • Managerial hiring season isn’t quite over, as the Orioles are still looking to fill their open spot. And, since Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde interviewed for every other gig …
