Spring Training Miscellany: Position Player Reporting Day, Live BP, Catcher Shenanigans, More
Today was an official reporting date for the Cubs, but for reasons both historical (“PITCHERS AND CATCHERS IS THE START OF SPRING TRAINING BABY!”) and pragmatic (so many dudes report early), nobody really says boo about “position players report day.” But that day was today.
Still, that means tomorrow is a pretty big day: it’s the first full-squad workout of Spring Training 2019. Let’s go and such.
Until then, some fun bits from this weekend around camp …

- Dang, man – gotta be quicker with that camera for all of us:
Kris Bryant — patrolling left-center during BP — robbed Almora of a homer with a leaping grab at fence. Teammates erupted in cheers. After jogging in, KB to reporters: “Did you get that on camera?”
No. No, we did not.
