Well, well, well, we pick back up with the team the Cubs saw last, the Milwaukee Brewers. The Crew knocked the Cubs off their throne in game #163 last season , which means the Cubs have something to win BACK this year and it all starts today, with the first game of the Spring.
The standings may not count yet, but the Cubs need to use this time to wisely select which peripheral contributors they’ll add to the roster at the outset of the season. The 7th or 8th man in the bullpen, the backup catcher, and the utility man may not seem like the most important people on the squad, but collectively, they can have quite a big impact. Picking right matters.
As for the pitching plan today, Jen-Ho Tseng is getting the start, and he’ll be followed by Alberto Baldonado, Craig Brooks, Matt Carasiti, Oscar De La Cruz, Carlos Ramirez, Rowan Wick, and Mike Zagurski.
