Who else is ready for some Cubs baseball on the TV?
I know there’s been a couple of MLB.TV opportunities so far this Spring, but there’s something about the Cubs returning to the tube, especially when it’s WGN.
September 27th, 2019 @Cardinals … that's the last time, probably EVER, the Chicago Cubs will appear on WGN. Feels strange.

As for today’s game, Jon Lester is taking the bump for his second start of the Spring, and it’s probably not a bad bet for him to take the ball on Opening Day. I don’t think he’s quite likely to be the Cubs best starter by the end of the year, but he’s undoubtedly the leader of this staff. Here’s to great, healthy start and an even better season.
Regarding the lineup, there’s nothing particularly unusual today. Albert Almora is getting some early reps at the top and he’s followed by a whole host of regulars. The only non-guaranteed member of the Opening Day roster, Jacob Hannemann, is out in left field, but it’s always possible we’ll see him before the season is over.
The Cubs beat the Brewers in the first game of the Spring one week ago today, let’s see if they can do it again.
UPDATE: Jason Heyward was been scratched from the lineup with an illness.
