Although better than an elbow or shoulder issue by a considerable measure, you never quite know how a blister is going to impact a pitcher – and the one Yu Darvish suffered yesterday, and then shared on Instagram, didn’t look great.
It also didn’t look awful, and Darvish said he expected to be able to throw the ball as soon as today, like normal.

The next step will be Darvish having his usual bullpen session on Friday. If that goes normally, then it’ll be all about whether his actual performance is impacted going forward (pain, slickness, grip issues, etc). I’m not terribly concerned at this point, to be honest, if Darvish is out there playing catch right away.
No word on precisely how Darvish elected to treat the blister. Must’ve worked …
