I was frustrated by the late lineup for the Cubs today … and then very happy to see why: Kyle Hendricks, today’s Cubs starting pitcher, got a contract extension. There was other stuff going on. Understandable.
In any case, today is the Cubs final Spring Training game of the year. We’ve made it. The Cubs will have an off-day tomorrow and kick of the 2019 season against the Rangers this Thursday! Woo!
But they still have to play today’s game and Kyle Hendricks is on the mound against the Reds Sox, getting in his final tuneup before another big year. After he pitches, you can expect to see Tim Collins (recently signed by the Cubs), Carl Edwards Jr., and Brandon Kintzler, per Mark Gonzales.
Also worth noting, this Spring was a huge success, ticket-wise, for the Chicago Cubs:
