With a threat of inclement weather later in the evening, tonight’s Cubs finale against the Pirates has been moved up from 7:05 CT to 6:35 CT. Hopefully, that’s enough to get the full game in, but we’ll find that out soon enough.
If they do make it work, tonight will be Jose Quintana’s second start, but third appearance of the year (remember: he threw 4.0 innings of relief back during Yu Darvish’s extremely short, first-start of the year in Texas). His last outing was an unmitigated disaster against the Brewers, including 8 earned runs on 8 hits (3 HRs) and 3 walks in just 3.0 innings. Hopefully this start is miles better. Cubs pitching, man. It’s making me old.
Meanwhile, Joe Musgrove will start for the Pirates, as Jason Heyward looks to keep the good times rolling. Go Cubs.
