When I was preparing the series preview earlier this morning, I realized something about the makeup of the Angels roster this season …
Peter Bourjos, Jonathan Lucroy, Justin Bour, Albert Pujols, Tommy La Stella, Zack Cozart, Trevor Cahill …
The Angels roster is just a bunch of dudes formerly of the NL Central.

That’s just a big collection of former Cardinals, Brewers, and Cubs. Apparently, everybody headed to the coast.
Cole Hamels is starting for the Cubs today and he’ll face an Angels lineup without Mike Trout in it (lucky him). I mentioned this earlier, but Trout is dealing with a groin injury and is not necessarily a lock to play at all this weekend. I’m hoping he does, though, because I’m headed to Wrigley Field tomorrow and I really want to see him play in person (something I’ve only managed in Spring Training two years ago so far).
Tyler Skaggs is standing up opposite Hamels, which means it’s a battle of southpaws this afternoon. The Cubs pitching has been a bit better lately, so let’s see if we can’t get that offense going again and plot another 10 runs on an enemy. Go Cubs.
