With Carl Edwards Jr., Brian Duensing, and, of course, Ian Happ all figuring things out in the Minors right now, the Triple-A Iowa Cubs have a fair amount of big league players on their minor league roster.
And, hey, in addition to those guys, the team is loaded with some interesting arms like Dillon Mapples and Dakota Mekkes, some Spring Training darlings like Cristhian Adames and Wynton Bernanrd, and even the hot-hitting Trent Giambrone, who’s crushing everything in sight.
And with so many great people around, it’s not surprising to see a lot of smiling faces:

But as one I-Cubs fan pointed out on Twitter, there’s one face noticeably absent from the smiling images above … the guy we’ve been trying to make smile for almost two years now: Ian Reginald Happ (I don’t think that’s his middle name, it just sounds right).
And, uh, yeah … good luck with that:

I’m dying.
While I’m sure Happ is not thrilled to be down in Iowa, the @IowaCubs account is clearly just having some fun with a young guy who’s sometimes serious demeanor has proven notoriously difficult to break.
But I’m sure Happ will turn things around at the plate here soon enough, before getting that call back up to the Majors. And at that point, I bet it’ll be impossible to make him stop smiling.
