The Cubs and Diamondbacks are back at it again – er, well, they will be in about five hours (get that coffee ready!) – only this time, in Arizona. Here’s the Cubs lineup for the first of a three-game set.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
- Albert Almora Jr., CF
- Kris Bryant, LF
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Javy Baez, SS
- Willson Contreras, C
- David Bote, 3B
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Mark Zagunis, RF
- Kyle Hendricks, P
The Cubs’ lineup looks pretty different tonight without the lefties in there – Kyle Schwarber, Jason Heyward, and Daniel Descalso – especially because they’ve been playing so much lately. But with the lefty Robbie Ray on the mound, the Cubs are rolling with the righties – that means Albert Almora Jr., David Bote, and Mark Zagunis.
This is actually the almost exact same lineup the Cubs deployed against Ray last weekend, though the pitcher, Tyler Chatwood, batted eighth instead of ninth. The Cubs didn’t manage a whole lot against Ray last time out (6.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 4Ks) so let’s hope seeing him twice in short order does something for them.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (8:40pm CT).
