The Cubs have a chance at a quick, two-game sweep of the Mariners tonight, and here’s how they’ll line up for the finale.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:Â
- Albert Almora Jr., CF
- Kris Bryant, DH
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Javy Baez, SS
- Willson Contreras, C
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- David Bote, 3B
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
Tonight’s lineup features all of the usual suspects for a game against a left-hander: Albert Almora Jr. in center field and up top, followed by the usual 2-3-4 of Kris Bryant (who is once again DH-ing), Anthony Rizzo, and Javy Baez.
With a lefty on the mound, though, Joe Maddon is fine stacking right-handers today, as Willson Contreras follows Baez. But he is also apparently okay with Kyle Schwarber getting some hacks in against a left-handed pitcher, who does carry traditional splits (i.e. this will not be an easy matchup for Schwarbs).
With that said, he is riding a bit of a hot streak …
Kyle Schwarber is currently riding a five-game hitting streak with seven hits, including three 2Bs, a HR, and 2BBs.

… So I’m glad to see him in there.
David Bote, Jason Heyward, and Ben Zobrist round out the Cubs’ nine tonight, as they look for the sweep. As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (5:40 CT).
