Yesterday, back-up (back-up) catcher Taylor Davis gave Willson Contreras a much-needed breather, taking over catching duties for his second start of the season.
And although the offensive fall-off should have been steep, Davis came through BIG TIME with a game-tying grand slam, in what was otherwise the first big league home run of his career (good time for it, eh?).
But while most Cubs fans will learn his name from that all-important plate appearance, I thought we might as well re-live what first made Davis famous: his beautiful, serious, soul-reaching stare, popularized by this absolutely hilarious montage put together by the Iowa Cubs. I have no other reason for sharing this other than, Hey why not?
