Come this Sunday, the Cubs will have just wrapped up a stretch of three straight weeks as ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball game. And, although some national exposure is a good thing, it’s kind of like really rich chocolate cake. Or, well, decent chocolate cake. You want some. Too much is too much.
And now the Cubs and Cubs fans are getting even more cake:
Cubs/Cards June 9 will be a Sunday Night game on ESPN

It’s almost as if it comes on cue, with folks complaining about the Sunday broadcast just this morning. Hey, such is life for good and popular teams!
For those keeping score, that means the Cubs will have been on Sunday night two weeks ago, last week, this week, two weeks from Sunday, and then also the week after that! That’s FIVE Cubs Sunday Night Baseball games in a seven-week stretch. Which is … it seems like a lot. It’s too much cake.
For fans who can’t otherwise see Cubs games, though, I suppose I say: good and enjoy. Sorry if the broadcast, itself, is starting to wear on you. But Pat and Ron are always on the radio on 670 The Score!
