Presuming Kris Bryant managed to survive an off-day in St. Louis without falling into a Rip Van Winkle, he will head to Busch Stadium tonight to face the St. Louis Cardinals, and a host of fans who will be irate at him for his JOKING comments in a JOKING session at a CUBS FAN CONVENTION about St. Louis being boring.
The whole story line, which was treated waaaaay too seriously and angrily by Yadi Molina, is not something Bryant is going to spend a whole lot of time thinking or talking about. But I did very much enjoy his comments on how he’ll likely be received tonight: he hopes he gets booed, because rivalries are fun.
So, Kris Bryant, are you looking forward to St. Louis? pic.twitter.com/3TDI8GjLyl

“Of course, it’s going to be not great,” Bryant said there of the response he expects in St. Louis. “I was watching [Manny] Machado get booed by the Yankees [fans]. I don’t know. I hope they boo all of us. We want the games to be a nice rivalry, intense. It’s always nice to play there, because there’s a ton of people there, a lot of our fans show up. It makes it fun.”
Bring it on, Cardinals fans. Boo them all just as lustily as Cubs fans boo the Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
I'm very sorry that the #Cubs had to spend today's off-day … in St. Louis.
