The Cubs and Angels are making up the rained out April 14th game at Wrigley Field – one day after Kyle Schwarber blew up because of the (non)checked-swing call that ended the game the day before – only this time, they’ll do it with Jon Lester on the mound and Carlos Gonzalez in the lineup. And because the Cubs split the first two games with the Angels, the winner of today’s contest wins the series.
HOWEVA, the Angels got back Mike Trout, who’ll be starting today, which is definitely a net-gain in their favor. It’s fun to see Trout at Wrigley Field, but man I wish they didn’t have to face him while they’re hurting so badly.
Jon Lester is starting for the Cubs today, though it’s not as easy to say whom he’s starting against. Cam Bedrosian is the Angels’ first pitcher of the day, but he’s just an opener for Trevor Cahill. I’m not a big fan of that trend, so I hope the Cubs offense absolutely destroy him. Go Cubs. Go Offense. Please win.
