Not that a four-run lead in the early innings at Coors Field is by any means safe, but you still feel crummy seeing the Cubs let it slip away. A very winnable game on the road that the Cubs did not win. It stinks.
Relatedly, you’re going to give up runs at Coors Field, and that’s gonna include some homers. You just hope to limit the runners on base when that happens, and unfortunately both of the homers Yu Darvish gave up tonight came with an extra runner trotting around.
Other than those homers, which were well struck, Darvish actually pitched really well. Heck, even with the homers, giving up four runs over six innings at Coors? That’s a good start.
