I’m not sure I thought Jason Heyward would do the double-digit home run thing again after last year. Despite improving at the plate over his first two dismal seasons with the Cubs, Heyward didn’t really have the kind of lift necessary to generate home run power, and I had kinda just accepted it.
But, knock on wood, he’s now back over double digits and we’re still in the second week of June:

Heyward is currently hitting .250/.351/.429 on the year, good for a 105 wRC+, or about 5% better than league average.
