Yesterday’s game was gar-bage (pronounced with a French accent), but I do have to spotlight this Victor Caratini play because it was legitimately that good. Absent context, it might be one of the best defensive plays of the season.
I get that they’re all pro athletes, and I also get that Caratini has some versatility – he isn’t just some thumb-shaped lump of a catcher – but I didn’t expect to see something like this:

If that play did not come in a blowout, with a position player pitching, I think we’d be googly-eyed all over it. That’s just a crazy good play right there.
