Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 6, Reds 0 – June 29, 2019

Chicago Cubs

It’s an Enhanced Box Score without a Box Score! Sorry about that, but I committed the grievous sin of leaving this afternoon for family activities without my computer. So I’m pecking on my phone, which I can do, but no visual aid.

Jose Quintana had it going today, working both sides of the plate, staying in the zone, and ultimately going six scoreless against a potent Reds lineup on a warm day in a hitter-friendly park.

For a long while it seemed like Quintana and the bullpen were going to have to make a Jason Heyward solo homer stand up as the only run in the game. Thanks to a Javy Slam late, though, there was plenty of cushion.

If I were doodling here, I probably would do something with the Pedro Strop-Yasiel Puig dust up. Maybe like a particularly muscular picture of Strop – dude is jacked – and joke that he’s the only guy I’d want less to mess with than Puig?

Full box score.
