With Kyle Hendricks returning tonight to start in Pittsburgh, you can expect some Cubs roster moves, even if it’s just Adbert Alzolay getting optioned down to make room for Hendricks, since Alzolay likely wouldn’t make another start before the break anyway.
But Gordon Wittenmyer hints at perhaps more than that:

You are reminded that the Cubs are operating with 10 arms in the bullpen right now, so it might be time to swap in a position player for one of those arms (Robel SZN?). But then again, with the bullpen in heavy usage last night, and with Hendricks perhaps on a pitch count tonight, a lot of bullpen depth might be necessary for at least a couple more days.
Still, how much longer are the Cubs going to operate with black holes in the lineup? What exactly is there to lose by bringing up someone like Robel Garcia and just seeing what happens? If he stinks and strikes out too much to succeed, OK, well, you didn’t really lose much over what you were getting right now at second base anyway …
We’ll see. You are on alert. Note that today is also the open of the new International Free Agency period, which sometimes brings with it trades of note (as teams move bonus pool slots around).
