So, after Victor Caratini gave the Cubs an early lead with a solo shot, I joked about hurrying through sharing it because the lead was unlikely to last. Much to our delight, Yu Darvish actually did pitch a shutdown inning after that!
And then the Cubs tacked on a run, after which Darvish immediately yielded a trio of rockets and turned a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 deficit. That’s how the starter crumbles.
Thankfully, at least, Javy Baez just tied the game back up with his 22nd homer of the year:
