How do you even begin to put into words the seemingly divine improbability of a group of pitchers and defenders, all wearing the uniforms of a teammate they’d just lost, combining to throw a no-hitter?
The entire night was to honor Tyler Skaggs, who suddenly passed away before the All-Star break. This was the Angels’ first home game since his passing, and his mom was even on hand to throw out the first pitch.
I’m speechless. Whether the divinity is God or simply the collective embrace of so many people loving in the same direction, you can’t deny that sometimes things happen that transcend our ability to say, “Oh, that’s just something that happens.”

A no-no just hours before what would have been Tyler Skaggs' 28th birthday.
